In 2014, MBC partnered with Pinag-isang Lakas ng mga Tribo ng Mangyan (PLTM) to help the Mangyan tribes manage their businesses and teach them how to survive, even with the lowlander competitors, who are usually the “Tagalogs” are called.

Erwin was one of the first group of Mangyan participants to follow the Start Your Business training. He had originally planned a banana transport company and it was approved. Unfortunately, Typhoon Nona hit Mindoro badly last year and caused damage to the banana trees, hindering the establishment of his business. Currently, while waiting for the banana trees to recover, he sets up a commodity store where he sells various household necessities.
